<p>The retractor (300) has one hook assembly retracting one portion of a tissue/bone from another portion of the tissue/bone. Another hook assembly maintains the latter portion of the tissue/bone in a fixed position relative to the former portion to facilitate retraction of the former portion from the latter portion. A pair of elevation control assemblies (320) retains a portion of a frame out of its plane.</p>
