The device has a pressure-sensitive unit (130) arranged between an inner and an outer wall. The pressure-sensitive unit has a material that changes an electromagnetic property based on a pressure applied on the material. A measurement point, a processor and two multiplexers together measure a change in the property. The processor generates a logical value if the change is larger than a preset threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a portable electronic device incorporating the input device.
