PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with a function of transferring a ringer melody to a mobile phone and a transfer method by which a user can transfer an optional melody desired by the user to the mobile phone with a simple operation as a ringer melody of the mobile phone. SOLUTION: A serial interface 3 interconnects a reproduction device (a MD(Mini Disk) or the like) and the mobile phone 2. The reproduction device 1 reproduces a melody desired by a user in a medium, converts the melody into melody data for the mobile phone and transfers serially the data to the mobile phone 2. Thus, the device 1 can register the optional ringer melody to the mobile phone 2.
