The invention relates to a loading unit for circular luggage (22), comprising a running strip, for the loading of luggage (22) into the hold (12) of an aircraft (10) through an opening (14), arranged in the fuselage of said aircraft (12). The unit comprises longitudinal receiving means (16, 66), mounted along the longitudinal axis thereof (Al, A2), within said hold (12) as a continuation of said opening (14) whereby said longitudinal receiving means (16, 66) receive, along the length thereof, a row (26, 86) of said circular luggage (22, 88) and propelling means (70, 70'), for rolling said row (26, 86) into said hold (12) in a direction perpendicular to said longitudinal axis (A1, A2) which frees up said longitudinal receiving means (16, 66). |
