A radio apparatus comprises at least one operating element (1) converting mechanical into electrical energy (U) and producing a radio signal (S). Signal transmission is assisted by an energy store (3) and information store and the energy store provides energy to produce a further radio signal and the information store derives the signal sequence. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a radio device according to the invention.
