A GLASS FOR GLASS BULB OF MONOCHROME PROJECTION TUBE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

The present invention discloses a glass composition used for glass bulb of monochrome projection tube and its manufacturing method. The glass composition comprises SiO2 50.0-60.0%; BaO 10.0-15.0%; SrO 6.0-9.0%; ZnO 6.0-8.0%; K2O 8.0-10.0%; Sb2O3 0.1-0.5%; ZrO2 1.0-2.5%; CeO2 0.3-0.8%; TiO2 0.1-0.5%; Li2O 0.5-2.0%; Na2O 2.0-4.0%; Al2O3 0-0.4%; Pr6O11 0-50ppm; La2O3 0-100ppm. The total amount of BaO and SrO is controlled between 19.0-23.0%, while the total amount of K2O and Na2O is controlled between 10.0-13.0%. The glass manufacturing method is constituted by the following steps: preparing batches, heating the batches in furnace to a sufficiently high temperature to melt the batches, holding at the temperature, reducing the temperature of the obtained melt, shaping, holding at a temperature and cooling. The glass has the advantages of strong fastness to electron heat injury, nondiscolorment under bombardment of high-energy electron bundle, good thermal conductivity, strong absorption for X-ray, high luminous transmittance, and long service life.
