Method and system for controlling packet transmission using bind update message upon handoff of mobile node in IPv6 based wireless network

The method involves retrieving an established transmission control protocol (TCP) connection for packet transmission to modify, stored currently set congestion control parameter to form a congestion control value for controlling congestion. The connection is retrieved and the parameter is restored to a value stored before controlling congestion upon receiving a bind update message after handoff from a mobile node (50). An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling packet transmission in an IPv6 based corresponding node.
