The device for the connecting of bar ends (5,6), especially of reinforcing bars in a concrete construction, has a tube component (1) in which are inserted the bar ends and several male threaded clamping elements (8,9) screwed into threaded holes (13) in the tube component. Two rows of clamping elements are located on the same side of the tube component with regard to the tube component's circumference, and are offset in relation to one another. The clamping elements' ends facing the bars act upon the bar ends in different directions.
