PURPOSE: A housing cover-clinching device of a catalytic converter is provided to prevent breakage of a catalyst by sequentially executing clinching and bending processes while maintaining the process positions without moving upper and lower covers, to minimize the size by simplified structure, and to facilitate arrangement to an assembly line of the catalytic converter. CONSTITUTION: A housing cover-clinching device of a catalytic converter comprises a frame(10) having a press(11) to the upper part and a base(12) to the lower part; an ascending and descending plate(15) guided up and down by guide parts symmetrically arranged to the frame; a lower jig(31) elastically supported on the base to support a lower cover; an upper jig(21) elastically connected to the lower part of the ascending and descending plate and arranged to the upper part of the lower jig to support an upper cover; a piston member(22) movably connected to the lower part of the ascending and descending plate; plural pressing bodies(23) symmetrically arranged to the ends of the piston members; plural moving bodies(24) arranged perpendicularly to each pressing body; and plural pressing tips(25) separably mounted to the inside of each moving body. The stroke distance of the piston member is restricted. The pressing body has a slant face to the inside of the lower end. The moving body has a slant face sliding correspondently to the slant surface of the pressing body. The pressing tip has a clinching face inclined at a predetermined angle. The pressing tip has a protrusion for bending arranged to the lower end.
