The invention relates to a method and device for warning persons when opening doors of high voltage electric cells, of the existence of dangerous voltages inside the cells, for the purpose of avoiding electrocution accidents. According to the invention, the method consists in detecting the occurence of the high voltage, by means of many electric field sensors, in the zones of interest of the cell, the signal of which is detected, amplified and used only conditioned by the door opening, by light and sound signalling in case of the occurence of a high voltage. According to the invention, the device comprises a circuit (A) for inputting/conditionning/detecting the signal given by the sensors (1), a magnetic microcontact (17), actuated by a magnet secured to the door cell, which conditions the entering into operation mode of the detecting circuit, and also of a block (B) for amplifying and processing the signal, for sound signalling with a buzzer, and for light signalling with a LED, and a block (C) for checking the display of the power battery status. The advantages consist in warning in any dangerous situation in case of the occurence of high voltage, the steady operation and the possibility of checking the working of the device and its own power unit.
