<p>The invention relates to a process and an installation for the mechanical-chemical purification of waste water with a high content of polluting elements, by using a high efficiency coagulant and the hydrated lime. According to the invention, the process consists in using, in the water purification process, a coagulant prepared in the purification plant, from slag tailings resulting from non-ferrous metallurgy, sulphuric acid and water. The claimed installation comprises a equalization basin (1) wherein the homogenization is performed pneumatically, a contact and reaction vessel (4), a gravity settling reservoir (7), a reactor (8) for preparing the coagulant, a storing reservoir (9), corresponding pumps and reservoirs. The advantages offered by the invention are, besides the high purification efficiency, the bacteriologic water decontamination using 6...7 logarithmic cycles, the simplifying of the upstream aerobic biological stage by size and energy consumption reduction, the possibility to be applied to the existant installations with low costs, and the lowering of the purified water costs.</p> |
