Three mounting plates (2) are attached by bolting (5) to the bottom edge of the main plough member (1). Each plate (2) includes an assembly of two hardened steel or similar snow cutting blades (4) fixed through an intermediate flexible member (3). The full assembly of six blades (4) covers the full plough width. The flexible intermediate member (3) permits the cutting blades (4) to have a degree of upward movement parallel to the mounting plate (2), in the event of the plough striking small projections or unevenness in the road surface.
