In a locking device comprising a member having at least one resilient locking bolt extending from a shoulder thereon and adapted to engage a socket in another member, the bolt having an off-set free end portion adapted to snap engage a locking edge of the socket, at least one guide arm extends from the shoulder laterally of the bolt and is adapted to co-operate with a corresponding inner surface of the socket. In the arrangement shown in which a member A may be attached to a part 4 by a stud and socket fastener 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, and the member is provided with two locking bolts 8, 8, the free ends of which are adapted to snap engage through an opening 18 in a socket member B, the member A is provided with two guide arms 11, 11, which in the assembled condition of the device are wholly enclosed by the socket member B. The members A and B are also provided with co-operating guide flanges 17 and 16 respectively and the member B may also be attached to a part 5, by a stud and socket fastener 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. In another embodiment Figs. 8-16 (not shown) a single locking bolt is used, the bolt being flexible for snap engagement with the socket opening in a plane substantially perpendicular to the rear side of the member A. In a similar arrangement, Figs 17, 18 (not shown) a projection on the bolt engages an aperture wall of the socket member, the bottom of the latter being closed. In a further embodiment Figs. 19 and 20 (not shown), similar to that of Figs. 8-16, the free end of the locking bolt is movable in a plane substantially parallel with the rear wall of the socket member. In all embodiments the device is made of a plastics material. |
