PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat foil which has apparently enriched depth and a feeling of expressed subtlety/profundity or fantasy as flat foil for a coated foil of such a type that a film piece representing a striped pattern is laminated on or attached to the surface of a tissue paper sheet such as a typical high-quality thick Japanese paper sheet composed of paper mulberry and the like and besides, is of such a nature that the foil can be cut into 90 to 100 pieces to obtain slit foils with a small width without interlaminar separation, and the slit foils are laterally arranged without turning inside out. SOLUTION: This flat foil is specified as putting a striped pattern 11 to the tissue paper sheet 13 such as the typical high quality thick Japanese paper sheet by laminating the film piece or a foil piece 121 having a hologram, i.e. the striped pattern 11 created by an interference pattern recorded by holography on the tissue paper sheet 13 such as the Japanese paper sheet or likewise by the attaching method.
