The transponder antenna (6) has two arms (9, 10) connected via an arch (11) so that the antenna is approximately round. The antenna has a radius which is large enough for the transponder circuit board (7) to be located inside it. The circuit board is secured to the free ends of the antenna arms so that it is supported by the antenna and supports the transponder battery (8).
