FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, catalysts. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a bimetallic catalyst used for (co)polymerization of alpha-olefins comprising co-catalyst consisting of hydride or metalloorganic compound of element of 1, 2 or 13 group of Periodic system of elements and a solid component consisting of at least 95 wt.-% of titanium, magnesium, hafnium, aluminum, chlorine and carboxylate groups R-COO in the following molar ratios: M/Ti = 0.1-10.0; Mg/Ti = 1.0-20.0; Al/Ti = 0.01-6.0; Cl/Ti = 2.0-70.0; R-COO/Ti = 0.1-10.0 wherein R is aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon comprising from 1 to 30 carbon atoms wherein at least 80% of titanium is in the oxidation degree +3 and at least 1% of indicated titanium in the oxidation degree +3 shows tetrahedral coordination configuration.
