The arbitrator (140) has a master interface with a generator for generating pseudo-synchronization signal in response to request from master devices (110-130) for accessing slave devices (150-170). The arbitrator receives transaction information from the master devices in response to the signal. Arbitration is accomplished based on the transaction information received from the master devices. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a bus arbitration structure (b) a process for effectuating arbitration in a bus arbitration structure.
