Centrifugal separator with electrodes, especially for oil well effluent, has outlet with shutter to limit evacuation of less dense phase

The separator has an input unit (10) to deliver the effluent between electrodes (12, 13), a spiral channel (19) in which the effluent is centrifuged after passing between the electrodes, and an outlet system (4) for the separated phases. The outlet system, containing a cyclone (20) and an axial orifice (21), has a peripheral gap to discharge part of the centrifuged effluent and incorporates a shutter to limit the discharge of the less dense phase through the gap. The shutter is designed to cover the gap, leaving an opening that allows the denser phase of the separated effluent from the lower part of the spiral channel to flow out, while the less dense phase is retained inside it. The shutter has a surface that converges towards the interior of the outlet system to return the collected portion of the effluent.
