The device has an unlocking device (10) connected to a power supply (16). A control switch (22) is placed between the supply and a resistive pad. A control apparatus (1) has an analysis and processing circuit (19) connected to an outlet of the pad to analyze a voltage drop at a terminal of the pad to make a difference between regular access authorization and an exterior manipulation of the device (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for verifying access authorization of a motor vehicle.
