PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring explosive strength are provided to measure high jump ability and long jump ability of a human by easily changing a position of an explosive strength measuring apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An explosive strength measuring apparatus includes a photo sensor array(200) having a light emitting section and a light receiving section which are aligned in parallel to each other, a central process unit(110) for calculating a measurement starting position and a landing position, and a display section(660) for displaying a measurement result. The light receiving section includes a photo diode or a photo transistor. The photo sensor array(200) also includes a start photo sensor array part and a landing photo sensor array part.
