968,240. Trifluoromethyl-phenyl thio-ureas. CIBA Ltd. April 18, 1962 [April 21, 1961], No. 15123/62. Heading C2C. [Also in Divisions A2 and A5] The invention relates to compounds of the general formula: in which R represents a phenyl radical which may be substituted by at least one halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms or at least one of the groups (in which R represents an alkyl group containing I to 4 carbon atoms and A and A<SP>1</SP> each represent hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms), which are prepared by reacting bis-3:5-trifluoromethyl phenyl isothiocyanate with a compound of the formula NH 2 -R where R is as defined above, by reacting bis-3 :5-trifluoromethyl aniline with a compound of the formula R-N=C=S where R is as defined above or by reacting carbon disulphide with an appropriately substituted aromatic amine. Specified compounds prepared are those of the formulae: The compounds are used to combat phytopathogenic micro-organisms (see Division A5). Specification 956,520 is referred to. |
