One-step coupling process for forming peptide linkages

A process for the production of a compound of formula (I) is disclosed, which process comprises reaction of a compound of formula (II), with a compound of formula (III), wherein n R1, R2 and R3 are as defined in the specification. This process is a one-step process wherein peptide linkage is formed in which N-carboxyanhydrides (NCAs) are coupled to inter alia cyclic amino acid amide derivatives thereby producing the compound of formula (I).
