METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING PAGING BY UNITS OF A MSC SYSTEM IN A WCDMA, PARTICULARLY FOR INCREASING A PAGING SUCCESS RATE FOR DESTINATION MOBILE SUBSCRIBERS BY USING A SEARCH FUNCTION FOR A MOBILE TERMINAL(SearchForMS FUNCTION)

PURPOSE: A method for implementing paging by units of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) system in a WCDMA, particularly for increasing a paging success rate by paging destination mobile subscribers by using a SearchForMS function, is provided to increase a completion rate of destination calls. CONSTITUTION: When a destination call request is received from an originating side, an MSC of a destination side inquires a subscriber from a VLR(Visitor Location Register) with respect to the destination call(S20). The VLR checks paging performing information and determines whether it is paging of a location registered area(S22,S24). If the paging performing information indicates that it is paging of the location registered area, the VLR transfers a paging command to the MSC with respect to the corresponding subscriber to perform paging(S26). The call is processed according to a general destination call procedure(S30).
