The process consists of making a plate (1) and adjoining truncated cone (2) from a disc by drawing and rolling it on a conical mandrel while its inner surface is supported by a tailstock. The disc is stretched to form truncated cone by flow projection process using rolling wheel. A sleeve (3) made from rolled sheet metal with a weld seam (4) is attached to it for connecting to rainwater downpipe. The process consists of making a plate (1) and an adjoining truncated cone (2) from a disc by drawing and rolling part of it on a conical mandrel while its inner surface is supported by a tailstock. The material of the disc, e.g. stainless steel or plastic, is stretched to form the truncated cone by a flow projection process using a rolling wheel. After forming the truncated cone a sleeve (3) made from rolled sheet metal with a weld seam (4) is attached to it for connecting to the rainwater downpipe. An initial disc of stainless steel, for example, has an outer diameter of about 240 mm and a thickness of 1.5 mm, with a truncated cone of some 0.8 mm thick.
