OPTICAL MODULE HAVING IMPROVED STRUCTURE FOR FIXING OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: An optical module having an improved structure for fixing an optical fiber is provided to reduce an error rate and enhance the productivity by improving a structure for fixing the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: An optical module includes an optical element, an optical fiber, and a substrate. The optical fiber(37) is connected to the optical element. The optical element and the optical fiber are installed on the substrate(31). The optical fiber is installed on a fixing groove(34) which is formed on the substrate. A guide groove(38a) is perpendicular to the fixing groove and is installed nearly to an edge of the substrate. The guide groove is used for guiding an adhesive for fixing the optical fiber to the fixing groove.
