PURPOSE: A hood latch apparatus of a vehicle for protecting pedestrians is provided to prevent the head of the pedestrian from being bumped into a safety hook by dividing a striker into upper and lower fitting parts and reducing the length of the safety hook protruded for the hood panel. CONSTITUTION: A hood latch apparatus for a vehicle is composed of a striker(11) protruded downward in the end of a hood panel, a latch locking the hood panel by fitting the striker, and a safety hook(30) turned and installed to the latch, and manually operated to keep detention in releasing the striker from the latch. An upper fitting part(11a) of the striker is fitted to the latch in moving the striker into the latch, and a lower fitting part(11b) is placed down through a hook part(31) of the safety hook. The lower fitting part is fitted to the hook part of the safety hook in displacing the upper fitting part from the latch, and the fitting part of the safety hook is spaced from the hood panel.
