The device has a case (1) fixed on a support (2) and having a hollow profile (8), closed at its ends by stoppers (5, 6) to ensure water tightness. A piercing in the profile includes a translucent window (7) that is positioned in a manner that a photo-emitter cell of a photoelectric unit is placed in front of the window. The case and the support include complementary surfaces to rotate the case following an angle of 180 degrees or more. An independent claim is also included for a device of opening of a door or gate, having two photo-detection devices.
