METHOD FOR PREPARING WATER-SOLUBLE PROPOLIS EXTRACTS REMOVING RESIN COMPONENTS

PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous clean propolis extract by removing resin components contained in the propolis extract. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of (a) extracting honeybee propolis with a mixture solution of water and ethanol; (b) after adding water to the filtrate of the step (c) and vacuum-concentrating it to evaporate the ethanol, cooling it to remove wax therefrom; (d) after adding water to the filtrate of the step (e) and vacuum-concentrating it to evaporate the ethanol, cooling it to remove resin therefrom; and (f) adding porous alumina to the suspension of the step (g) to remove off-flavor therefrom.
