The use of a composition comprising dextrin and at least one disaccharide wherein the amount of dextrin is between 2-20% (w/v) and the amount of disaccharide is between 1-10% (w/v), wherein the osmolarity of said solution corresponds to an osmolarity of between 250 and 350 mosmol, for the manufacture of a medicament for use in the delivery of nucleic acid to a cell; the solution further comprises a divalent cation such as MgCl2.
