An aluminium roof system has a sandwich construction with the outer surface comprising a ridged profile panel (11) with an anodised finish to reduced reflection glare and to provide corrosion protection. The anodised layer is about 3 microns thick and can simulate a worn aluminium finish. The covering system is supported on a profiled structure with parallel U-profiles (3) and includes a moisture proofing sheet (4) and a thermal insulating layer. The system can also be applied to external wall cladding.
