PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conveniently and accurately evaluating the degree of progress of creep damages, in a CrMoV steel material such as cast products. SOLUTION: A carbide is deposited on the surface of the CrMoV steel material, having initial Vickers hardness of 200 or smaller or an initial tensile strength of 640 N/mm<SP>2</SP>or smaller, and is collected; The quantity ratio of M<SB>6</SB>C carbide to M<SB>7</SB>C<SB>3</SB>carbide contained in the carbide is measured; and the degree of the progress of the creep damage in the CrMoV steel material is evaluated, based on a measured result.
