PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter which can enhance the degree of freedom of designing an electric driver and an adding function as compared with a conventional gas meter. SOLUTION: According to this gas meter 10, a power can be generated by using a city gas or propane gas flowing through a gas pipe 11. Accordingly, unless supply of the city gas or the propane gas is not stopped, a power supply to an electric driver is attained permanently, and a conventional necessary battery replacement becomes unnecessary. Further, if compared with the amount of accumulation of electricity of a lithium battery in a conventional gas meter, an electric energy which can be supplied is remarkably improved, and the degree of the freedoms of designing the electric driver and the adding function is remarkably improved. Thus, a back light can be provided in a liquid crystal display panel 20, and a display unit can be easily visually recognized even in a dark place. Further, an isolation valve 21 with larger power consumption than a prior art can be also used, and the degree of freedoms of designing the isolation valve 21 also becomes high.
