PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize effectively the recording region of an optical disk of a prescribed size by appropriate access control of a PCA (Power Calibration Area). SOLUTION: In an optical disk drive, an optical disk whose recording track is sectioned in first recording region unit is accessed in a block unit which is constituted of a plurality of first recording regions and in which error correction is performed by using first address information corresponding to the wobbling information of the recording track. The drive has a control means in which, when a second recording region constituted of the plurality of first recording regions is accessed, access control is performed successively without performing data modulation and/or demodulation processing for the plurality of first recording regions constituting the second recording region.
