PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the standby power when a time limit is imposed to prevent the repeated dubbing of the same music within a predetermined period when dubbing a sound signal at high-speed. SOLUTION: A clock circuit 8 disposed in an MD recording/playing-back device 2 is set in a cut-off state, the time information is obtained from an external clock 15, the cut-off time and a code intrinsic to the music to dub are backed up after the power source circuit 13 of the MD recording/playing-back device 2 is cut off, a backup time is calculated when power is supplied again, and determination is made as to the passage of predetermined time for the limit time.
