PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input shaft for a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of preventing the generation of burrs in the periphery of a notch part. SOLUTION: This input shaft 20 for a toroidal continuously variable transmission is provided with a shaft body 20a, a screw part 60 formed in an end of the shaft body 20a possibly to be screwed to a loading nut 70, and the notch part 82 formed in the end of the shaft body 20 possibly to abut on a nut end part 72, which is extended in the axial direction from the inner wall surface of the loading nut 70, by caulking.
