PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less toxic polysaccharide type gene carrier capable of forming a highly stable conjugate with a nucleic acid in using a nucleic acid in various gene-related uses such as antisense drugs. SOLUTION: When aβ-1,3 glucan is conjugated with a nucleic acid, at least part of the sugar residues present in the side chains of theβ-1,3 glucan (e.g. schizophyllan, lentinan, or scleroglucan) are removed by the relaxation Smith degradation method to reduce a degree of branching.
