PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail device for a man conveyor capable of accelerating and decelerating the moving handrail without being influenced by the overall length of the man conveyor by elongating and contracting the moving handrail at the ends of the man conveyor. SOLUTION: The moving handrail device of the man conveyor is equipped with a plurality of handrail units coupled together endlessly, and each unit has an elongation/contraction part and an accommodation part to accommodate the elongation/contraction part, whereby the elongation/contraction part moves emerging and retracting to/from the accommodation part so that elongation and contraction are generated in the traveling direction.
