A measuring device is described for measuring flow direction and velocity in a flowing medium such as water, wherein the measuring device is arranged within a watertight container or casing (8) that is submerged in the water. The measuring device is produced from a joystick (1) or joystick body that is known per se arranged at a first end area of the casing (8), which joystick comprises potentiometers (2, 3) and is modified so that the standard joystick operating lever is replaced by an elongate body (4) supported in the joystick body (1) and connected to the potentiometers (2, 3), which elongate body (4) at the end portion opposite the support in the joystick body (1) is provided with a weight (6), so that the elongate body (4), when the measuring device is in use, hangs down from the joystick body (1) and under the action of gravity can assume a vertical orientation. A measuring device for measuring the position or angle of an object is also described. |
