PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger of a portable gas sniffer having a new configuration, capable of charging a secondary battery even in a state that it is attached to a sniffer body, or detached from it as a single unit. SOLUTION: The battery charger is used for a portable gas sniffer to which a secondary battery is detachably provided. It comprises a sniffer attaching part for charging the secondary battery while a portable sniffer to which the secondary battery is attached is received/attached, and a secondary battery attaching part for charging while a single secondary battery from which the portable gas sniffer is detached is received/attached.
