PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus and a liquid injection device having a cartridge storing part which can store and use many cartridges. SOLUTION: The cartridge storing part 104 of the recording apparatus 100 which has the cartridge storing part for storing cartridges 10 with ink for recording stored therein is set to be able to accommodate every four cartridges at both sides of an apparatus body 101. One stores the cartridge of black color for a predetermined recording medium and the cartridges of three primary colors, while the other stores the cartridge of black color for a recording medium other than the predetermined recording medium and the cartridges of predetermined three colors other than the three primary colors. Since it becomes possible to store and use many cartridges, recording of a larger coloring number than conventionally becomes possible, and colorful recording is enabled.
