PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reproducing device which can avoid the reproduction error state due to a bit shift after the reproduction error caused by a flaw of a recording medium or the like. SOLUTION: In addition to the intrinsic M bit data (symbol data), M bit data which are shifted by one bit front and back to the intrinsic M bit data are also demodulated, and an error signal indicating whether the demodulated data are normally demodulated is also generated.
