PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow even a user who is not equipped with a telescopic luminance meter to obtain nearly the same precision as that obtained when using the telescopic luminance meter, and to check variations in the display performance of a display. SOLUTION: A method for measuring intensity in displays obtains the corresponding relationship between intensity measured by the telescopic luminance meter and illuminance measured by an illuminometer on the surface of the displays, and converts illuminance measured by the illuminometer to intensity measured by the telescopic luminance meter in an actual measurement.
