PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal generation device for an internal combustion engine, correctly acquiring rotation information including information on the rotation direction of the engine even in the extremely low speed of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The signal generation device 1 comprises: a rotor 2 having two reluctors R1, R2; and a first pulser A and a second pulser B generating pulses by detecting edges of reluctors of the rotor 2. Position relation between the reluctors, and position relation between the first and second pulsars are set so that difference is generated between a phase relation between an output pulse of the pulser A and an output pulse of the pulser B in normal rotation of the engine, and a phase relation of that in reverse rotation of the engine.
