TURBINE ENGINE AUGMENTER, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an augmenter (32) which is characterized in a plurality of flame holders (42) to cause combustion of additional fuel and uses a pilot device to stabilize flame of the flame holders (42). SOLUTION: The turbine engine augmenter (32) has a center body (38) provided within a gas flowpath. The flame holders (42) are disposed within the flowpath and outside the center body (38). A burner having the center body has an outlet to emit combustion product of a first pilot fuel. A pilot fuel line has an outlet disposed so as to charge additional pilot fuel to the emitted combustion product. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
