PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized rotary carbonization apparatus improved in carbonization efficiency. SOLUTION: A kiln inner cylinder 11 has a shape of a rotor, has, at its one end, an inner cylinder inlet 11a for an object to be treated and, at the other end, an inner cylinder outlet 11b, and is formed by connecting an inlet side part 11c having the inner cylinder inlet 11a to an outlet side part 11d having the inner cylinder outlet 11b with a connection part 11e. A kiln outer cylinder 12 has an inside surface of a conical shape, a small-diameter end part 12a, and a large-diameter end part 12b. The small-diameter end part 12a is arranged at the inner cylinder outlet 11b side; the large-diameter end part 12b is arranged at the inner cylinder inlet 11a side; and the outlet side part 11d of the kiln inner cylinder 11 is surrounded so that the object to be treated is received. At the large-diameter end part 12b, a discharge part 21 is arranged. The kiln outer cylinder 12 has a rotation axis the same as that of the kiln inner cylinder 11, is fixed to the kiln inner cylinder 11, and is rotatable by motive power together with the kiln inner cylinder 11 around the rotation axis.
