PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitching apparatus providing a player with an enhanced ambience. SOLUTION: This pitching apparatus has a pitching means disposed behind a display means for displaying an image and synchronically pitching a ball with the image displayed on the display means. The display means has a cutout part making the ball pitched from the pitching means pass through and provided on at least either of one side part of right or left. The display means is provided with a frame body retaining a sheet screen and the periphery thereof. The cutout part is formed by cutting out at least either of one side part of right or left of the screen and the frame body. A reinforcing frame integrally formed with the frame body reinforces the cutout part of the screen. A support frame supports the screen and the frame body, wherein one side part of the support frame is cut out and a cutout part thereof is reinforced with the reinforcing frame.
