PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clean electronic component which inhibits corrosion of aluminum and deposition of foreign matter such as particles. SOLUTION: The electronic component is cleaned with an alkaline cleaner containing (A) an alkaline component and (B) at least one hydrophilic organic compound chosen from the group consisting of (B1) a monohydric alcohol with a number average molecular weight of 32-500, (B2) a dihydric alcohol with a number average molecular weight of 62-250, (B3) an alcohol with a valency of 3-9 and a number average molecular weight of 92-400 and (B4) an alkyl ether composed of residues (B1), (B2) and (B3) from which all hydroxyl groups are removed and a 1-8C alkyl group.
