Method has the following steps: loading of measurement software in a system computer (S1), estimation (S4, S5) by the software of whether limiting values will be exceeded, commencement (S6) of measurement if not, calculation (S10) of a time slice for the measurement, transmission of a time slice and repetition of the time slice calculation and transmission steps until the measurement is ended (S12). The last three steps are carried out in real-time. The invention also relates to a corresponding magnetic resonance system and computer software for implementation of the inventive method.
