<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily maintain the quality of recording paper by automatically cleaning the light emission face of an LED (light emitting diode) with a cleaning member in accordance with the operation of opening/closing the cover member of the upper part of the recording part of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with the cleaning member 35 such that the cleaning member 35 is capable of cleaning the light emission face 29 of the writing device (LED) 28 that writes an image on the photoreceptor drum of the image forming apparatus. The cleaning member 35 is moved linked with the operation of opening/closing the cover member supporting the LED and the light emission face 29 is thus cleaned with the cleaning member 35. In order to clean the face by linking the LED to the cleaning member, a support link member 30 having a quadrangular link form is provided.
