PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component feeder, its control method and a component packaging device in which an exchange work of a tray plate for feeding components which houses components can be very easily conducted, a component supplementing work efficiency can be enhanced, and a program time can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the component feeder, a plurality of tray plates 47 for housing a plurality of components are stacked and housed, and a component housed in the specific tray plate 47 is pulled out to a component take-out part from among the plurality of tray plates 47 to feed the component to a specific component feeding position. The component feeder comprises a tray plate mounting part 63 which is secured to a different position from the component take-out part for mounting the tray plate 47 out of stock among the plurality of tray plates 47, and a tray plate feeding means which pulls out the tray plate 47 to the tray plate mounting part 63 and further sends in the pulled-out tray plate 47 to an original housing site.
